Who we are

Simon Burnham, and aviation has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I grew up obsessed with aircraft — watching them come and go, dreaming of being in the cockpit one day. But like many people, I was told early on that becoming a pilot “probably wasn’t for me.” Dyslexia, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, struggling with traditional education… all the usual barriers that quietly push people away from aviation before they even get started.

I didn’t listen.

I worked my way into the industry the long way round. I earned my PPL, built experience in the UK and South Africa, flew a range of aircraft, worked in simulator environments, and spent years teaching and mentoring pilots. Most recently, I worked as a Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI), helping students through one of the toughest parts of their journey: the exams.

And that’s exactly why I started this business.

I’ve seen incredibly capable pilots held back by ATPL theory. I’ve seen people lose confidence, burn out, or feel embarrassed asking for help. I’ve also seen students who “aced the exams” but struggled when it came to real-world understanding. Exams don’t define the pilot — understanding does.

My focus is simple:

to support pilots who are struggling, doubting themselves, or just need theory explained in a way that actually makes sense.

I specialise in:

  • ATPL & PPL tuition

  • One-to-one mentoring

  • Supporting neurodivergent students

  • Breaking complex subjects into practical, real-world explanations

  • Building confidence, not just passes

No ego. No judgement. No “you should already know this.”

Just clear explanations, patience, lived experience, and a genuine desire to help people achieve something they were once told wasn’t possible.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or questioning whether you belong in aviation — you’re exactly the person I built this for.

Our ethos

● Make aviation accessible

Remove the myth that becoming a pilot requires being “naturally academic” or young. Promote

realistic, achievable pathways into aviation.

● Champion the modular route

Support students who choose to train at their own pace, around work, family, and real life without

pressure to fit into a one-size-fits-all model.

● Support neurodiverse and non-traditional learners

Provide tailored tuition for students with dyslexia, autism, ADHD, anxiety, or those returning to study

after a long break.

● Deliver genuinely personalised tuition

Focus on one-to-one and small-group teaching, adapting methods to how each student actually learns

not how a PowerPoint says they should.

● Build confidence, not just pass exams

Help students overcome exam nerves, imposter syndrome, and self-doubt, so knowledge translates

into real-world understanding and cockpit confidence.

● Make complex theory practical and relatable

Use real aircraft systems, simulators, and operational experience to turn abstract ATPL and PPL

theory into something students can see, feel, and understand.

● Create well rounded, thinking pilots

Go beyond rote learning to develop judgement, situational awareness, and a professional mindset

skills that matter long after the exams are finished.

● Provide honest mentoring and career guidance

Offer realistic advice on training routes, costs, timelines, and career expectations no sales

pressure, no false promises.

● Build a supportive aviation community

Foster an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and

supporting each other’s journeys.

● Give something back to aviation

Help ensure the industry doesn’t lose great future pilots due to confidence or outdated perception
